Three At Last

Three At Last was founded in the summer of 2008, and lasted just over two years. Along with me in Three At Last were co-founders Anita Sandwina and Velvy Appleton. During that short time, we were able to create some wonderful original music, record two CDs, and play a large number and variety of gigs, including the San Diego Indie Music Fest, The Kate Wolf Memorial Music Festival, an East Coast House Concert Tour, and many house concerts and other venues in the Bay Area and Sonoma County.

It's said that all good things must come to an end, and so Three At Last is no more. All of us are moving on to other projects and pursuits, and it's my hope this little blog page will keep some of the feeling of Three At Last alive.

Some reviews of Three At Last's music:

"Smart songwriting, striking harmonies, and lush musical arrangements. Every song is original, and eloquently tells a story that is brought to life by their lovely harmonies. Their American folk tradition has a natural sound and unified instrumentation that comes from their indelible chemistry.

"Three At Last combines the energy and chemistry that are characteristic of the best bands with the purely personal presence of the best singer/songwriters. Each song feels uniquely conceived, and with the inspired range of three part harmonies, there is a diversity and freshness to their entire set.Three At Last have this amazing quality of being both reflective and present, of savoring past experience and this moment with us, simultaneously."

“This Marin/Sonoma County folk trio makes a positive and promising first impression with their debut CD. All three are up-and-coming singer-songwriters with impressive musicianship. Their tight three-part harmonies prove that they have the ineffable chemistry that makes for a successful group. And these first eight songs are good enough to suggest that there are even better ones to come.”
~Paul Liberatore, music critic, Marin Independent Journal and Here Magazine, first album review, Summer 2009

"A Powerhouse Folk Trio that creates amazing acoustic-based music where great songwriting, intricate arrangements, and soaring harmonies take precedent over anything else. A blending of instrument and voice into one giant bouquet of Americana Folk that reminds one of Indigo girls, Emmylou Harris, or Nanci Griffith."

“When Three At Last’s music came out over the PA, there was an almost Pied-Piper-like effect at the festival; people all over the grounds stopped what they were doing, listened for a moment, and then started moving towards the main stage. Their vocal harmonies just grab you. The songs are smart and touching. The band was a major highlight of our festival.”
